Overview

The Python Packaging Summit brings together developers, maintainers, tool authors, infrastructure stewards, and community members working across the Python packaging ecosystem. Whether you're building tools like pip, Poetry, or conda, maintaining PyPI, distributing Python apps, or simply relying on packaging workflows, this summit is a space to sync up, collaborate, and tackle shared challenges.

Following the successful full-day event at PyCon US 2025, this half-day version will keep the format focused and interactive. No lengthy talks—just high-value conversations, updates from governance groups, and breakout discussions with actionable outcomes.

Who Should Attend

• Maintainers of packaging tools or infrastructure
• Contributors to standards and specifications (e.g. PyPA, Packaging Council, CEPs)
• Users and integrators of packaging workflows (app developers, downstream distributors)
• Anyone passionate about improving Python’s packaging story

• Brief updates about the Python Packaging Council & related efforts
• Breakout discussions (or short talks, if speaker slots become available)

The agenda will be finalized based on registered participants and proposed discussion topics.

Registration & Participation

Participation is free with a EuroPython conference ticket, but pre-registration is required. A short application form will open in June, allowing you to express interest and propose discussion topics you'd like to see included.

A Code of Conduct will apply, following EuroPython’s standards.
